Captured (Lexington Senior Photographer)

Can I just say how much fun this session was? FUN. FUN. FUN. (Yes – three funs.)  Complete understatement.

When Emily emailed me a few months ago about getting her senior pictures done - little did I know she was ALSO a rockin’ photographer who specializes in SENIORS!  I felt quite honored to be taking her pictures (which turned out stunning because Emily is so beautiful and stylish and witty and cute and fun) and quickly these images have become some of my favorites. She has a great *eye* for style – and totally selected THE cutest clothes and accessories! I’m completley dying over her vintage cameras!  I now want one.  Anyone know where I can find one?

Sidenote: Have you checked out Emily’s website?!!  Please do!  She’s amazing.

We frolicked by old buildings, through grassy fields, through a churchyard, and around some old sheds.  Photographers do things like that.  We think old sheds are beautiful and well – fun.  LOL.  I wish you all the luck in the future, Emily!  Thanks for a great session.  And please drop me a line when you get engaged to a certain *JONAS* brother.  =)

Wow! She is a stunning senior. I have to agree with you – now I’m pining after a vintage camera as well :)

Sweet Lyla Jane (Lexington Newborn Photographer)

Happy Birthday Lyla Jane Noe!  My dear friend, Marissa, had her sweet little baby this morning!  Hooray!  Sophie and I couldn’t wait so we headed over to the hospital to meet the new darling and snap a few pictures.  Here she is – only SIX HOURS old!  Isn’t she precious?  And so little.  I love her already.

{sigh!}

I’m soooooooooooo excited (understatement)!  LOL!  I soooooooooooo need another one.

So proud of you Marissa!   XOXO.

P.S. – There were SOOOO many cute pictures – I might just post a few more later tonight!  Check back Marissa!! =)

I love hospital newborn photos. Beautiful lifestyle session capturing the first moments of this family of three. Love it!

This is Lunch (Lexington Photographer)

at OUR house.

Feet on the table. Feet on each other. Chomping food. Showing off chomped food. Singing at the top of lungs. Competitions for best scream, smile, mad face. Sitting backwards. Jumping. Hanging upside down. Laughing. Laughing. Laughing.

Everything, EVERYTHING – but eating.

Drives me nuts.

But then I remember that someday it will just be me sitting at the table – and I think how boring. SO I get out my camera and embrace the silly. THIS is lunch at OUR house and I hope it never changes.

Be Mine (Lexington Photographer)

And… here they are!!!

Our sweet colorful 2012 Valentine crayon cards.  Wow – that was quite the mouthful. HA ha.  We make these fun heart crayons (my tutorial here) every year - first because it is a great way to use up old broken crayons – and second because once you use the mold for melting waxy crayons – you can’t use it for anything else.  Got to get good use out of it!  HA.

This year we spiced up our little Valentine’s with some personalized photo cards – LOVE – of course.  Ha ha.

While we waited for a bright sunny day – we rummaged through the girls closets and found some cute red and white attire.  So when the sun finally did poke through - we were ready to go!  Not too much as far as set-up – just snapped away in my bedroom.  I think they turned out quite smashing – and I am so excited for the girls to pass them out to their best buds tomorrow at school.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

P.S.  If any of you would like to borrow my heart mold – just give me a ring!  It’s so easy – and quite fun!

These are just so sweet. One day when I have little ones of my own, I plan to steal this idea :)

Heart Valentine Bunting (Lexington Photographer)

Anyone else think that January just flew by? I woke up one morning and realized Valentine’s was just around the corner and I hadn’t even thought about it yet. So, I grabbed my laptop and began perusing all my favorites on Pinterest and BOOM! There it was – I found a darling little bunting that was perfect. At least I still have a week to enjoy it, but next year maybe I’ll try to get on the crafting a little earlier.

Originally made from paper and vintage book pages – I decided to create something similar but wanted it to have a little more long term staying power! Kids. Hello! So my mind went straight to fabric, which has recently become my Achilles heel. It’s like scrapbook paper that never ends!!!! Love. I see cute fabric – I buy. Eeps. And since my mother gave me a sewing machine for Christmas I don’t feel guilty about the purchases anymore. It’s terrible. =) So off to Hobby Lobby I went, grabbed some burlap and pretty red fabrics, and went right to work!

Here are the instructions!

1. Create a cardstock template to cut out your burlap. You can make it any size – I chose to do 4×5 shaped pockets. Trace onto burlap and cut. Then I just eyeballed the rounded point at the bottom – making sure they were all the same.

2. Make a cardstock heart. Trace onto little red fabrics – cut.

3. Fold top of burlap pocket over about 1/2 inch – sew. You will be creating a “real” pocket for the twine to run through to create the bunting.

4. Trace cardstock heart onto Steam-to-Seam (an iron on fabric adhesive). Peel paper off both sides and place on fabric heart. Then place heart Steam-to-Seam face down on burlap. Iron for 15 seconds.

5. Tape twine to the end of a pencil – and thread through each burlap pocket. Viola!

Now just find a sweet spot to display and you are ready! Easy peesy! It’s so simple that I had both my girls help me cut and sew and they LOVED it!!! I hope you all have a fabulous Valentines!!! I’ll be back soon with our fun little crayon Valentines!
